All will be well. As several people have said, pushing a closing by a couple of days isn't a huge deal -- you'll sign something and so will the sellers, if necessary, and it'll be okay. Trust me, as a recent seller, we would have done just about anything not to lose the sale this close to closing. I didn't begin to believe it would really happen until I called the electric/gas company the night before to be sure the buyers had transferred service into their name: I figured if they had done that, then they were planning to follow through and close.
My pet theory is that financial companies are clinging to the cash they have and making it as difficult as possible for people to get it out of their clutches. They don't really want you to buy that house and put your nest egg into it. They like having it to do evil things with.
