Woo-hoo!

I can foresee that this LJ is going to become the place in which I prattle with childish glee about vidding...

So, since I got home from work today, two and a half hours ago, I have: done a bit more capturing; cursed Alliance Atlantis for putting the two parts of Victoria's Secret on different sides of the DVD; found one damnable elusive clip which turned out to be in Letting Go, for chrissake; studied the difference between single-track and A/B and decided "Eh"; paged through the SAMS Premiere guide (infinitely more helpful than the manual); had way too much fun playing with Transitions; and --

I have the first twenty and the last eighteen seconds of the vid DONE! Eeeee! I am grinning all over my face, bouncing in my chair, and in general feel like a dog with two tails.

And man, can I ever see the addictive time-obliterating power of this. Those two and a half hours just vanished, poof. And now I have to shut down and do dishes and return phone calls. But really? I just wanna play with my vid.

Digital Vidding....

....has been, for me, a bit like the first time I flew in a small plane. The pilot asked me: where did I want to go and I was struck by the three dimensional possibilities of flight. We could soar off into an endless variety of directions - and never fly the same space ever again.

Ditto digital vidding. Don't be afraid to play and plunk around and create.

Ooh, lovely image -- and yeah, I've just been in full-blown "play" mode with this so far, swooping around and doing barrel rolls and giggling frequently.

Interestingly, it's also making me feel re-energized for writing, all nice and loosened-up in the ligaments, which had gotten very tight over the last couple of years.

Now all I need is, like, another twelve hours in the day . . .
