Kat - you are truly a light bearer! I will hold this to my heart as well as the memory of the marriage of the two lesbian pastors of my church. Most of the congregation and their daughter, Nicole, turned out to celebrate their "marriage" after 20 years of being together. We threw rose petals at them, sang (well, sort of) parts of the Song of Songs and drank champagne. Nichole, being 11, drank ginger ale. But it didn't matter what we drank - we were giddy with happiness. Later that evening, I went to a party to celebrate about 20 other gay marriages and got high on the joy. I remember when black and white marriages were illegal, when the first show with a black star (Bill Cosby) first aired on TV - and how controversial that was. When I get depressed, I just have to remember how far we've come in the last 30 years.
