I call those kinds of police by that quaint and unpopular phrase, "the laws of physics". I just wish people wouldn't ask to be yanked up short by those kinda police quite so often while *I'm driving near them.* And yes, there really are people that trusting, naive, dim, and clueless. But you knew that... (Cue the blank bovine stare, please.) After the kind of Friday I had at work, I'm not merely certain of that. I'm sure that everything silly bit of funny behavior that Terry Pratchett ever wrote about will be done by somebody, at some point, right in front of me. (No, we don't need drooling, too. Faulkner-style rural staring is plenty, thank you.) Right now, I'm certain that there's people out there who will do ten unlikely things before breakfast, and look at you blankly when you point out that any one of such foolishnesses will lead to two dozen truly unlikely things happening to them before dinner. And probably evil ones. "Oh, really?" (Okay, that's enough footage of the staring. Really. Stop now, or I'll scream. And don't you hate it when you can't stop, once you got started?) But enough personal drama. Deep breaths. Boring=good.
