I basically suck at remembering to do the birthday wishes for friends, but I wanted to seize the opportunity to mark the natal day of thewildmole, she who, like her LJ namesake, runs silent and deep, burrows under the radar, shuns the limelight, and yet who has been one of the most stalwart, wise, and dependable people I've had the fortune to meet in fandom. Peerless beta, astute and cranky critic, most excellent writer, a woman of grouchy wit and soft heart -- she's one of a kind, and happy birthday to you, my friend!

You know, this is mortifying, but you said something to me earlier about being in Minneapolis this weekend, and in my current state of utter scrambledness I totally lost track of it, and then when I saw it was actually ohmygod this weekend I was too embarrassed by my previous non-respondingness to actually get it together and *say* something.

But anyway, I know you must be insanely busy, but if you wanted to grab a half-hour for tea and catching-up at some point, just let me know!
