May. 7th, 2006 04:41 pmRandom fannishness #1: This is funny.
R.f. #2: While idling around Uptown today, I found and purchased a used set of Nikita Season 2, and a copy of the Homicide movie. The former I've only seen parts of, and those out of sequence; the latter I watched when it first aired, and it left me so utterly verklempt that, even if I'd had the wits to tape it (which I didn't), I don't think I could have watched it again. Until now. When I feel a resurgence of Pembleton-love brewing on my personal horizon, not that it ever really went away or anything.
R.f. #3: I've come to realize that one of my greatest fannish pleasures these days--now that I've given up any plans of ever actually making any vids--is running, on the monitor in my brain, imaginary vids whose virtue is, in large part, that they never *shall* actually get made and hence I will be spared the embarrassment of revealing to the world what a giant soppy cheeseball I actually am. They amuse me vastly, as I wander around the city with my headphones, listening to the songs to which they are set, and sometimes I laugh aloud, and sometimes I sigh happily, and always I can overlook the fact that none of these would actually *work*, either technically (in the sense of source providing all the actual clips needed) or artistically (oh my GOD, the cheese). And no, I am not describing any of them to any of you, given that I clearly still have *some* sense of shame left.

Date: 2006-05-08 01:22 pm (UTC)Lord King Bad Vid is a great way to start vidding, because there is absolutely NO PRESSURE to make a "good vid". You just vid with your big cheeseball heart and create greatness. It's the best feeling!
