Winter is Fun!

So, the very best part of winter isn't the shoveling tons of snow ... or the going out in -30 windchill ... or the fact that it NEVER ENDS ...

No, the bestest part of all is falling on the GODDAMNED ice and breaking one's GODDAMNED wrist.

(Right wrist, of COURSE, being as how I'm right-handed.)

May I just say FUCK. Also, dear GOD the ER is a tedious place to spend three hours.

Upside? Scrip for Vicodin, dudes! You suppose I could trade half of it to Greg House in exchange for some dirty, dirty, carnal roistering? (*g*)

Ow. Pilling up and heading to bed now, and apologies in advace if I don't get replies to any comments out (and don't feel obligedto comment!) -- typing is a bit cumbersome.

DAMN YOU WINTER.

(Oh and C.--do NOT feel bad, this could've happened anywhere. *hugs*)

ETA: Ah hahahahahahaha!! I forgot to specify non-childproof cap on the g.d. Vicodin! Just TRY opening a childproof cap w/a broken wrist!

Well suckity suck suck, say I.
Though the pill bottle with the child proof top is darkly amusing.
Well, to me...

(Feel better, take the vicodin, curse the winter.)

[identity profile] lynnmonster.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no! That's terrible! I hope you heal quickly and hurt so little that you get to keep the Vicodin for recreational House-bribing purposes.

[identity profile] renenet.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm SO SORRY, Kat! You poor, poor thing!

You definitely deserve an extended session of dirty, carnal Greg House comfort after all that hurt. ::nods firmly::

[identity profile] taverymate.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ouch! Much sympathy. You can usually get a child-proof cap open one-handed by holding the bottle between your bare feet and using your good hand to push down and unscrew it. Not elegant but workable. You'll be tempted to use the wrist too soon and too much because it's bloody inconvenient having the use of only one hand. Try and resist or it can really set you back. Good luck!

[identity profile] lovelokest.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
*winces* Get well soon!

[identity profile] kassrachel.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, my dear. For God's sake. Christ on a crutch. I am so sorry.

Bah and furthermore humbug. Thinking of you, ruefully, and wishing there were something I could do.

[identity profile] gwyn-r.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Aiiieeee!!! I'm so sorry. (And believe me, you have my utmost empathy -- a few years ago I did the same thing, left wrist, and right before I had a big job interview.)

The ER is truly a tedious place, especially when you're not totally drugged up. I can't believe they didn't give you nonchildproof caps!! It's totally the torque that kills you on the broken wrists -- you can often hold things and such, but you can't twist or pull on anything. Dumbasses! They shouldn't make the goodies so hard to get to.

I hope you recover quickly and no more slippage!!

Oh, good God, Kat!!! Ack!! *sends hugs!*

Oh, God, you poor thing--this certainly puts my winter whining into perspective. *sends hugs and knockout pills*

Damn-- I'm so sorry!

[identity profile] aerye.livejournal.com 2007-03-07 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, noes!!

(And. uh. yes. I do think Greg House would be more than amenable to the exchange. ::g::)

Ack!!!!!!

*appologizes again for evil ice!*

However I'm glad you didn't try to tough out going to the gym afterwards!

I wish you'd mentioned heading to the ER - the least I could have done was keep you company.

Do you need any errand run?

Oh my god, you poor woman! *lots of hugs*

Oh, Kat -- what a mess. I'm so sorry!

Now I want to come down and cook soup for you so you don't have to worry about feeding yourself.

Well, that sucks. And childproof lids just to add icing to the cake. At least you got the good drugs.

Bummer on not seeing you at Escapade. I won't be at the Jamboree. I'll be in Canada that weekend.

Oh no! Take care of yourself (and good luck with that bottle of Vicodin)!

*hugs*
