There is much of a happy and uplifting nature to be posted about how excellent Muskrat Jamboree was, and what a great job the con com did, and how wonderful it was to see so many lovely smart shiny people.

This is not that entry.

This is, instead, the entry of Oh my sweet tapdancing CHRIST, how much do I hate air travel??!?!?!?

See, it was, apparently, windy in Chicago today. Really quite windy. Not an entirely unprecedented meteorological situation, one would imagine, here in The City Known As Windy, but enough to completely bollix, banjax, and befuck air traffic on a national scale. The upside is that it looks like I should be getting home tonight (which was seeming pretty dicey a few hours ago). And that I was at least able to locate the gate for my connecting flight at O'Hare (quite an accomplishment, since American Airlines apparently abandoned the project of updating its departure boards sometime earlier in the evening). And there is a bar close by, at which beer has been secured and consumed. But oh, my god, the hate-on I am having for air travel. Sing it with me, anyone who was unfortunate enough to be aloft today:

H.A.T.E.

Oh, airline travel sucks even when it's going well, and when it's not, that's just awful.

*hugs*

O'Hare, and particularly the American terminal, is truly a crowded, hot, miserable dungeon of despair, operated on some sort of chaos engine.

Uh, safe journey home. The salads at the Wolfgang Puck place are pretty good, especially if American has given you a food voucher.

I hope the hellish day ends with you safely at home tonight - I'm crossing all digits for you!

glad you had a good time at MJ; may those good memories help ease your pain just a bit.

As someone who was on air travel yesterday (to Minneapolis!), HATE. Not fun at all. Glad you're able to get home today though.

uuuuuuugh. How wretched.

Oh, Lordy day (and yes, it was indeed appallingly windy here today). Make it home safely, said your plane-phobic friend.

Oh, my dear. I am so dreadfully sorry. Bah.

Having spent way, way too much time at O'Hare in the past, I sympathize. Have more beer.

As someone who just recently recovered from hellish air travel by crashing at your place, I offer my deepest condolences and a jug of virtual hooch. Here's to getting home tonight and in one piece.

Yuck. So sorry this was an unpleasant end to a lovely weekend.
But I was delighted to spend time with you at MJ. Here's hoping we're in the same time zone again really soon. You're terrific.

I hope that you are reading this from your desk chair with a nice cup of cocoa laced with orange liquor.

If not, let us know if you need a ride from the airport.
