(no subject)
Jun. 17th, 2003 06:49 amArose at five, flung open all doors and windows--my god, there is really nothing of purer loveliness than the world at 5 a.m. in mid-June, in northern latitudes--and have been power-cleaning, in anticipation of
sanj's arrival this evening. (Yes, I should've done it last night, but it was too damn hot.)
I am a relaxed housekeeper for the most part, but when I'm expecting a guest, I make some effort. In particular, I am mindful of Rule No. 1 (in my rulebook, anyway) For Good Hosting:
Make sure there is nothing whatsoever funky going on in the bathroom region.
Because I don't mind my own personal funk so much (the toothpaste spatter on the mirror, the little stray hairs here and there), but other people's makes me go eeeuww. So I try not to inflict it on guests.
And today new student orientation begins. Oh joy. The Young and the Clueless, in their multitudes.
