Oct. 13th, 2004 06:06 pmMeme-ing away, on this blustery dank October evening, in the fifteen minutes before I have to start dinner:
A book you own that no one on your friends list does: The Bill James Baseball Book 1991 (a.k.a. The Last Year The Twins Won the World Series). Heh.
A CD you own that no one on your friends list does: Morimur, an interweaving of Bach's Partita in D Minor with the chorale themes buried within the "Ciaconna" movement of the same partita. Hilliard Ensemble. Stunning.
A DVD/VHS tape you own that no one on your friends list does: "You Have a New Neighbor!" -- a completely charming 15-minute videocassette produced by the Minneapolis Park Board and left in the mailboxes of houses with newly-planted boulevard trees, on how to care for the sapling. (OK, I admit, this is cheating, but I don't have any other contenders in this category.)
A place you've been that no one on your friends list has been: Bodo, Norway, about 50 miles north of the Arctic Circle. (
flambeau, have you been there?)
Comment me if I'm not alone on any of these, of course.
