(I've never known if that's pronounced "hay-ho" or "hi-ho." Do you?)
Anyway--I gave up the effort to compose a clever, graceful entry about how, when one's trying to address some dysfunctional behavior, such as, oh, let's say a two-month absence from LJ, one is well advised to go with causational attributions that are useful (e.g., point to things that can be fixed and/or will change in the course of time, like "My brain is still adjusting to life without nicotine!" or "This freakin' weather! Rrraarrggh!!") rather than to those that are ontological and resist change (e.g., "I suck as a human being! Oh, the loser that is moi!")
Which is to say, I shall not rant on here about my suckitude and loserdom, but neither will I bore you with chitchat about life after nicotine or the freakin' weather (which, after several weeks of relentlessly painful cold, has now gone frolicking up into the balmy 30s and 40s! And note how that is coincident with my finally starting to post here again! Behold the power of a good attribution!) -- nor even, actually, about attributions, though it's an interesting topic I may ramble on about some other time.
This is just to say I'm alive, I'm fine, I am working to regain some ability to not only put concepts into words that form coherent sentences, but also actually making myself sit down at the computer and type them out (an ability which abandoned me with startling rapidity and thoroughness about six weeks ago -- again, I'm going with "brain readjusting to life without nicotine" because that assumes said readjustment will complete itself annny old time now). (Which it had better.)
And I send Solstice/Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/seasonal cheer of whatever flavor pleases you out to you all. Will post more later -- perhaps the menu and recipes for my family Christmas-dinner extravaganza, which was a smash hit.
