Well, at least now I know why I was feeling so generally lousy last weekend; yesterday morning I woke up sore-throated and achey and veritably awash with phlegm and cold germs. I have slept 19 out of the last 24 hours and am still feeling foul.
The one upside -- a couple of weeks ago I'd set Jan. 12 as my quit-smoking day, and sure enough, I haven't had a cigarette since Sunday evening (which is due less to my wonderful willpower than to the fact that the very thought of smoking makes me feel actively unwell. Or even more actively unwell.) If I'm having withdrawal symptoms, they are subsumed in the general miasma of bleargh; and after a couple of more days like this, all I should really have to deal with are the mental cravings and the twitches of habit. So, go me.
And in very good news indeed,
tzikeh reports that Millennium will be coming out on DVDs! ::Kat cheers as loudly as she can, and then subsides into whooping paroxysms of coughing::
OK, then. Back to bed.

It's sort of reassuring, isn't it, when you realize the reason you felt so shitty is because you were on the verge of getting sick? I see that a lot in the Apple of our eye (or as Ces says, "the Applet") -- malaise, moodiness, or temper often herald a cold or other malady. Too bad we don't have a crystal ball to see that!
Hope you feel better SOON. Take good care of yourself. I see other recs for comfort food. My personal recommendation is Kraft macaroni and cheese, baby peas, and canned mandarin oranges. In our house, the combination of the three has magical powers. :)

The OM quit 14 years ago. Hard candy and cold turkey. I seem to recall a bout of pneumonia helped him quite a bit, too. Luck!!

If you have to feel foul though at least you've got the cold turkey and sickness all compressed together so that you don't feel like giving into one because of the other.
I'll be rooting for you.
