Mr. Bone and I were Dem Party volunteers in Orlando in 2000. I vowed then that I'd never again let an election have such an impact on my emotional state. I was disappointed to learn that the "I-4 Corridor" went for Bush this time, but given whose in the governor's seat, it's not a huge shock.
Your post helped, Kat. It reinforced what Mr. B and I were saying this morning, which is it's not the war, it's not the deficit, it's not terrorism. It's the gay thing. That wasn't even an option on the "Why did you vote as you did?" polls I saw, but it's pretty clear looking at the results that "morals" drove the election.
I'm trying to look at it this way -- Bush will now have four years to clean up the shitty mess he's made, and if the country can't figure out in that time what a jackass he is, then frankly, I guess it deserves what it gets.
