Of the good:
--I got to have dinner last night with
_aerye_, which was completely lovely; her braininess and humor and sanity are well known to all, but she's also such a completely delightful, *comfortable* person to spend time with, talking about everything from Nero Wolfe to gentrification to vids to job hassles. I also got a sneak preview of an absolutely fantastic vid (made for her, not by her) about which (since it's not public yet) I will say nothing more than Wheeeeee!
--I also got tosneak preview beta
dsudis's hockey epic, and all I can say is, people, as soon as this is posted, clear an entire *day*, because once you start reading it you will not be able to stop until you reach the end. I am blissed.
--And the weather here continues with the almost supernatural warmth (although that will end soon). Everything is melting, the air is mild and balmy, and it feels like the finish line of the annual winter marathon is in view.
Of the less-than-good:
--I have come down with a disgusting head cold. Bleargh. At least it's not the flu.
--The crazed overload at work has almost pushed me past "teeth-grinding stress" and into the realm of "weak helpless hysterical laughter." Almost. I really should spend the entire weekend in the office, except for the part where I have the disgusting head cold and only feel like lying on the couch, blowing my nose and moaning.
--And we've reached a decision at last to transfer my dad into hospice care on Monday; the doctor's opinion is that he likely won't live much more than a week beyond that. Truly, I'm not really sad about this--I've *been* sad about his state for a long time now, and I'm mostly relieved that the end is in sight, because he's suffered more and longer than he should have, and I'm terribly glad a decision as finally been made.
And now, to laundry and dishwashing.
