*scream*

So. After hours of wrestling with approximately 37649 densely-interwoven inextricably-tangled dust-bunny-swathed cords, cables, and wires in the cramped and ill-lit recesses behind my computer desk --

I find that I have not one, but two AC adaptors that were plugged into surge protector #2 but not connected to any devices.

And I have no freaking idea what they're supposed to go with. (Not the phone ... not the USB hub ... not the router ... not the cable modem ... not the laptop ... not the other laptop ... )

This is going to make me insane.

Maybe surge protector #2 generated them spontaneously. Or maybe it was sexual reproduction: you leave your male connectors and your female connectors unsupervised for a few months, and just look what happens.

The airport? (no clue on the other...)

I always blame the troll under the sink, myself. You're probably juicing up his (or possibly her) eeny teeny laptop computer, which is undoubtedly better than any of ours. And they always take off with the paper you just put down and the book you were just reading and that weird can of what's-it you needed for your obscure technical hobby (whatever it might be, the trolls are not particular in this regard) and they must go hoard it somewhere.
Or possibly it's just Wee Free Men taking off with it too, as in Terry Pratchett. But they've never taken off with the useless half-gone plastic rum bottle that I could really use getting disposed off, which makes me suspect it ain't the Wee Free.

My speakers use one of those.
