In the middle of watching the updates on Rita, with fear and trepidation, I noticed it had gotten awfully dark out, and then all of a sudden the sirens went off, and yowza, tornadoes bearing down on the Twin Cities, along with the 75 mph straight-line winds and the big-ass hail.

Insert here obligatory philosophical reflection on how there is really no safe place anywhere. Me, I'm shutting down and going to watch the sky.

You know, if I were from New Orleans and evacuated to Houston, I would be starting to take this whole thing kind of personally.

I once got chased up the Florida coast by a hurricane while attempting evac. Seriously, no matter where I was, that's where the thing was heading!

Don't remember which one -- about a decade back, turned out to be relatively minor.

I've heard that some people walk around with a cloud over their heads. Those people need to stop having conventions.
