Mar. 19th, 2006 04:24 pmOK, in some respects I totally suck. Like, for example, the
rayk97s story challenge? For which I signed up back in January, and then promptly forgot all about, which would be embarrassing enough, but then there's the part where I also neglected to friend the community LJ and hence failed to take the basic step necessary to get myself sent reminders? Yeah, those would be a few of the totally-sucking aspects. So I will not have the story done on time, and I deeply apologize to
pearl_o for that. I do have, like, a concept, and a story may come out of that at some point. But for now it's just some random notes, and me sitting around fumbling for the cheap excuses.
Like, for example, um -- work stress! Right, the part where I and co-workers still don't know what, if any, jobs we'll have come summer! Still totally up in the air! (I may quite possibly end up being offered Big Prestigious Position, but I'm very unsure about how much I actually want it.) (Well, I don't really "want" it, actually -- the question is more whether it'd be better or worse than the alternatives.) But in any event -- very distracting!
And, um, weather! Yes, we had a foot and a half of snow in the past week, more than in the entire rest of the winter combined! And, granted, it's all rapidly turning into great arctic seas of slush, but clearly a person can't be expected to write in such circumstances, eh?
But actually -- it's just that I am mired down in the La Brea Suck-Pits. Woe.
