I know I've been in the Cone of Silence lately, and though I owe comments and updates and all kinds of stuff, that's going to have to wait a little longer, because gals and pals, this entry is dedicated to a Special Day of Commemoration that we almost let slip past us. No, I'm not talking about the fact that it's the day before Halloween; or that it's the anniversary of Orson Welles' War of the World broadcast and of the Ali-Foreman Rumble in the Jungle; or even that it's the date that Kurt Cobain smashed his first guitar, all those years ago.

No, much more importantly --

It's vagabondage's birthday!!

So everyone, go pile on Zen, tell her how fantastic she is and what a glorious treasure to fandom everywhere and give her many hugs, and in the middle of it all, take a moment to whisper in her ear, "Jeez, you're fuckin' OLD now, dude!" And then run real fast, cackling like a fool. (That's my plan, at least.)

Actually, since you posted this, it has taken a very happy turn for the better. Pete is grilling steaks, and there will be cake, and fresh strawberries, and life in general is just looking up.

And hey, tomorrow is Halloween, and that's just plain fun :)
