So, the vacation begins. Five weeks without having to go in to the job. And just like last year, I am flagrantly grandiose in my dreams of what I can accomplish during this time.
The current to-do list includes:
1. Clean out the basement. (This has been on my to-do list every summer since the late 90s, and one of these years I fully expect to get around to it.)
2. Get the dead car hauled out of my garage. (The dead car has been there since...1998, maybe? Whenever it was that
eliade moved to Seattle, because on her stopover here we drove to the video store to rent "The Sum of Us" and that was the last trip that car ever made.)
3. Get the new website finished, up, and running, which includes figuring out the code for the photolog.
4. Do a great deal of photography.
5. Get to the gym every day.
6. Quit smoking.
7. Reorganize all storage space in the house.
8. Finish the dS novel-in-progress. (Ah HAH hah hah hah hah....)
9. Finish at least one of the two Methos stories that have been in progress for at least the last four years (you're *killin'* me here...oh, my *sides*...)
Five weeks. Yes, right, OK. I guess I'd better get started then, eh.

Date: 2003-07-19 06:58 am (UTC)If I had five weeks, I'd help you clean out the basement! And you could teach me how to make quiche.
You may be able to donate it to a local vo-tech. THey might come and tow it away. I think there are a bunch of places you could donate it to.

10. Make a poll

Date: 2003-07-19 08:28 am (UTC)I hope whatever you do accomplish, you enjoy - failure to complete all items on this list will likely *not* cause permanent harm nor friends to sneer.
if you care about others' opinions, my vote leans toward #2, #4, #8 & #9 - the first should be pretty easily accomplished, and the others possibly provide you some creative satisfaction. for the rest, cleaning & organizing leaves one feeling pretty happy, but don't kill yourself in the process.

Date: 2003-07-19 10:16 am (UTC)You are very ambitious. I am impressed. Hey, what if you got all the crap stuff done in the first week and then just mellowed, slept, wrote, ate good food, read fan-fiction, and slept some more? ;)

Date: 2003-07-19 01:48 pm (UTC)It is indeed; they also now have a free olive-sampling bar, where you can taste any of their 20 varieties of olives. ::making happy sounds::

Well, then I would be one of those people who's capable of work-before-pleasure, or broccoli-before-dessert, or whatever. Which I so am not. *g* But I think if I try to chunk up each day so I've got some time for writing, some time for scut work, some time for wandering around with the camera, etc. ... that's what I'm going to try, anyway.
And I *may* conceivably get out to Seattle some time in August; not sure, though. Will keep you posted.

Eeeeeeeeee! Eee! Eee!

Long Hot? Summer....
Date: 2003-07-19 06:21 pm (UTC)Anyway, relax, enjoy, do what you can and I will send good weather vibes from SF!

bugging you as promised
Date: 2003-07-19 07:16 pm (UTC)As for the rest, don't sweat it. In particular the basement cleaning is a sufficient substitute for going to the gym on any given day. As a matter of fact I heartily recommend NOT doing both on the same day. (My mother, who is reading over my shoulder, wishes you luck with the basement.)
