Nov. 8th, 2003 08:31 amIt's easy to be a slugabed when arising means leaving the warm bed-cave and emerging into the distinctly chilly air. Must get the bedroom windows insulated this weekend, as we seem to have descended directly into winter; it got up to all of 24 yesterday, and is 15 this morning. In other words, perfectly nice typical January weather, apart from the fact that it's still November fergodsake. So I'm once again practicing all the classic cold-coping strategies: recreating a vivid sensory memory of exactly how *real* cold feels (say, 20 below) so that 15 above feels balmy in comparison; swilling hot beverages; putting the mind elsewhere; the ever-popular Retract the Nerve Endings, Ray. *g*
I am cranky because my VividCon DVDs have not yet arrived, but I am consoled by

I was thinking about you yesterday when I saw the temperature maps. Hope this evening finds you in a snuggly warm house. Maybe the DVDs will arrive today and wreck all of your scutwork plans.
