So very, *very* addled with red wine that I've no business posting at all, but I must just say:
P. = Best Boyfriend Ever.

Firefly and Two Towers Extended Edition and Homicide Seasons 1 and 2. Oh my god. I foresee a future in which I do nothing but watch DVDs.

(Plus? He loved the DVD I got him of "The Art of Violin," with all the historic footage of Heifeitz and Milstein and Kreisler and Szeryng. Despite all my swag, that's what we spent the evening watching. The boy's a violin geek ...)

Is (well, Was) Szeryng really a very short, and excitable character? A friend told me he was always getting into arguments with the conductor. Me, I just worry about him having a heart attack while playing that long solo chaconne of Bach's. Which, I guess, is unlikely seeing as he's dead.

Hm ... if I'm remembering correctly from last night (which, given the wine consumption, I may not be) short and excitable, yeah, though they didn't show any fights with conductors. What I *do* remember is that, right after numerous clips of people whipping their way through various show-offy Paganini blitzkriegs, they showed him playing the chaconne, and I sat straight up, blinking, and said, "Whoa. *Dude.* Now *that* is truly *excellent.*"

I have the Milstein recording of the partitas/sonatas myself, and love it, but boy, I may have to pick up a copy of the Szeryng.

Aww, the Art of Violin rocks. Does the DVD have any special trick to distinguish it from the VHS? I might get it for my bitty-virtuoso sister.
