Ahhhhhhhh.

I am filled with the rich glowing satisfied happiness that comes from (a) a very busy but highly productive day at work, (b) my regular Tuesday evening trip to the gym with [livejournal.com profile] lapillus, featuring a *serious* session with the weights plus interludes of cheerful (though short-breathed) conversation while leaning on the chest press machine and panting,(c) a nice dinner of grilled burger-no-bun, marinated green beans, and a St. Pauli Girl, and (d) a new tech toy to play with. I'm withholding details on (d) until I get it up and working smoothly, but I'll just murmur the words tablet PC and eBay and ohmygodit'ssofreakingcool.

It may be the beer working me over here, and the endorphins, but I feel this vast sappy love for the universe; my new boss is the greatest, my co-workers rock, everybody on my friends list is funny, charming, and loveable, and Sumer is icumen in, lhude sing, cuccu! (Although right now what is actually icumen in is a hard cold drenching rain, but whatever.)(A co-worker of mine said today, "You say 'whatever' a lot, don't you?" I assented vigorously. "Almost as much as I say 'Dude.'" She thought about that a moment and nodded. "Is it all the time you spent with the students?" "Actually," I said, "it's all the time I spend with my on-line buddies." She said, "You really might want to spend more time away from the computer." I said, "Naaahh.")

All I really need to do to make my happiness complete is to get some writing underway. The story is spooling along in my head; I just need to catch up with it and start tacking it down in actual prose. Which will happen, eventually. Right now I'm just going to finish my beer, and maybe do a little more stretching, and then collapse into bed, and slide into a happy downy slumber, listening to the rain drum on the roof.

Mwah! Sumer really is icumen in, more or less. A bit less pollen over here and I might love the universe, too. Or a bit more beer....

I am selfishly glad you are spooling, and hope for my own sake that tacking happens soon. I'm even happier to see all this burbling happiness; it does my heart good, and makes me all cheerful by proximity.

Yay! You sound so happy. I'm so glad to hear about someone having a great time at work (most of the people I hear saying that lately are self-employed . . . ), and even if it is raining, it's still getting warmer overall, yay!

So glad to see you perky! I envy your beef-n-beer-n-rain-soaked evening. I could use that kind of full-bellied coziness right about now.

It's mizzling outside, which I normally enjoy being out in, for the prickly feeling on my face. But I have to work, so.

I look forward to hearing the details on your latest purchase. Mostly, though I look forward to more of you being happy. You deserve it.

I have picked up so much slang online and from tv. I say "Y'all" and "dude" all the time. I've started saying, "Thank you kindly". Without planning to. I add 'age' to the end of words (example -- when asking what time a friend was expecting me over, I merely asked, "Timeage?"). I spell some words the British way (ex -- grey) and some the American. My vocabulary is a mish-mash of words and slang and mutilation of the language.
