In Which Kat Grouses Pointlessly

Oh, the Weather Gods, they are evil, *evil,* malevolent filthy bastards with a twisted sense of humor.

So it's been classic late July weather here the past few days, which is to say steamy and suffocating. Yet have I borne it bravely, for lo! Tomorrow I take off for Seattle! Where surely it shall be cool and refreshing! And I shall laugh, HA HA, at the poor bastards sweltering back here on the prairie, while I dally in the coolness!

Um. Except for the part where the day after I leave, it's going to go down into the 70s here. And also and even more notably, the part where it's going to be in the 90s this weekend in Seattle.

Blast and damnation. Anyway, I'll be back on Tuesday.

But no humidity! We had a freakish bout of hot and humid last week that left me feeling like I was in Minnesota visiting my relatives, but it's finally gone now, and when it gets that hot here, it's dry. So that's... you know, something! Are you here for business, or for fun?

Fun! Total and complete irresponsible self-indulgent fun!

And, um, let me e-mail you with a number where you can reach me in town; I've been utterly remiss with trying to arrange meetups with folks this weekend, and am doing the 11th-hour catch-up. *g*

The work gods give, and the work gods laugh behind your back. While you're headed to Seattle, I'll be in and around Minneapolis! I'm leaving Tuesday night, so I'm going to look for you in the airport....

I am just bummed to the max that the one week I'm gone is the one time when you're here! I hope at least you can hook up with some other local fans, but *dammit.* I'd have loved to spend some relaxed hanging-out time together.

(Oh, and I'll actually be at the airport at 5 a.m. tomorrow. I hope you'll be arrived and sleeping peacefully by then! *g*)

I realize I forgot to wish you a good time! I'm sure it will be splendid, hot weather or no. So enjoy!

In the 90s????

Oh, joy.

Well, there goes any desire of mine to do yardwork.

The weather gods are funny like that. When I went to Arizona to hike the Grand Canyon, it rained Every Single Day I was there. None of the park employees could figure it out. Needless to say, I didn't tell them that I'd brought the humidity with me all the way from the swamps of DC.

Have a nice trip!

Seattle is Good but SF Is Better (weather wise).

and we are only a short hop and a skip. I have a perfectly good couch that makes into a double bed, a nice homey apartment and will provide home cooked meals and tour services for free.

Of course, if you don't come, then the Weather Gods will smite Seattle with a heat wave. And if you come here, we will have the hottest weather on record.

Because the Weather Gods are nasty that way.

But have a nice trip and do think about visiting SF.

I'd love to have you stay.

Poached Kat... it is most unfair.
