OMG it is not just WARM out it is freaking TROPICAL it is ALMOST 50 DEGREES! I was just standing out on my back deck WITH NO COAT ON and was PERFECTLY COMFORTABLE! On DECEMBER 30!!! I shall now proceed straight to the clothes-ripping-off and gambolling part of the agenda. ::rend, rend:: ::gambol, gambol::

(This utterly unnecessary post brought to you by global warming, getting off work early, and a nice big glass of chardonnay.)

I put my Long Down Coat of Incredible Warmness away in the closet, with tender regards, while giggling fiendishly. (Soon enough I'll have to haul it out again, I know.)

Or even stills?

Preferably digital, for later altera- er, I mean, for instant transmission to a global aud- er, I mean, for entirely private personal enjoyment?

Naked gamboling! I wish I were there!

The insanely warm weather is supposed to reach us tomorrow, but with wind and rain. So I console myself with mental images of you . . .

You probably didn't want to know that, did you.

Yay for the chardonnay!

Ahh, you Texans, you and Shell both. ::waving hand dismissively:: I've spent the last few minutes recalling the New Years Eve of 1979, just before I departed for two years in California -- we were supposed to drive off westward at dawn on NY Day, but we couldn't do so, because it had gotten down to 27 below the night before, and the freakin' spark plugs had frozen solid. I'll take the mid-40s instead, with *great* pleasure.

Dude, it's in the 70s here! And will stay that way all week! I have my windows open! How am I supposed to get reacclimated to winter when this is going on?

What you need to do is find one of those supermarkets with the big walk-in freezers in the meat section, and camp out in it for a while. Just explain to the nice meat-section guys that you're reacclimating. Pretend you're Fraser. *g*

(And really? Enjoy the 70s while you can, would be my counsel.)

The end days, indeed. Dude, the average *high* for today in Mpls. is 23, average low 6 above. I am still giggling madly over the being able to stand outside without a COAT. Really, it takes so little to make me happy ...

Also - I want pictures of the rending and the gamboling. It's not real unless it's on the Internet.

So there.

namaste SF Nancy - currently enduring an extremely noise water pump next door. Somebodys' basement has flooded and it's no wonder - it hasn't stopped raining here for 5 days.

I walked out of the door from work today and it smelled like spring. Late spring. Maybe late April. It's bad enough that my schedule this week is all whacked out do to year end, but having my months out of order in not helping. *g*

It's been so unseasonably mild here this year that I found myself getting all indignant when the temperatures finally dropped below 20 degrees--like, what the fuck, why's it *cold*?!? And then, oh yeah, it's the end of freaking December. Right, cold. And this isn't even *cold*.

So, er, yay global warming? *g*

I hope you're having yourself a marvelously relaxing and tipsy and apparently naked evening, my dear. *mwah*

All relative, certainly.
One of the fambly out here was recently whining during a trip about the freakin' cold wind blowin' unseasonably chill stormy air all round an icy public restroom.
This was at a point when the car thermometer registered 54 degrees, which is usually not seen until deeper in the winter, and only during the night.
"See?" they told me. "It's *freezing* out there!"
I would have reminded them that freezing of water does not occur until much smaller numbers, but unpleasant tickling with said frozen hands might hve occurred.
And that *would* be cold.
So I didn't.
Believe me, it was a breezy restoom.
