Having now watched the movie, I can do no better than to quote the brilliant and lovely [livejournal.com profile] dsudis, to wit: WILBY WONDERFUL IS PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY.

That happy little gently-bubbling puddle you see over there? Would be me.

I just -- I mean, even apart from the CKR factor, I love that it's got so much *heart*, and that there's no goddamned whiz-bang *plottiness* -- just people, going about their lives.

(And then of course there *is* the CKR factor, thank god, about which we shall squee together, one week from now, yay!)

I'm incredibly jealous that I'm going to miss the WW chat at Connexions. It's so damn far away.

And yes, Dira's comment was exactly right.

The sweetness in this movie has so much honesty to it. It's not just a bunch of characters running around trying to be cute. Duck's calm, clear-eyed affintiy for so many of Wilby's population just leaves me stammering for the words to describe how much I adore him. And CKR? He works over-alls and a white plaid shirt like nobodys business.

Those Canadians...they do know how to make art. And I guess if you consider CKR art for the masses (if you're a puddle-making goo girl), they know how to create art too.

That whole movie just left me feeling good...like Buried on Sunday. I love the way they do things up there.

It's the kind of movie that makes you glad people make movies, isn't it?
